The cyber threat at the start of the year

Over the past few years, the cyber threat has grown to become a major concern for businesses and governments worldwide. The reasons for these increases are manifold, ranging from the proliferation of cybercriminal groups, to zero-day vulnerabilities and loopholes emerging along supply chains.

Today, we have developed a technology that enables us to collect data and analyze the state of the global threat between 2022 and 2023.

In the first quarter of 2023, the cyber threat increased by almost 85% worldwide, compared to the first quarter of 2022. Of course, ransomware remains the most common type of attack used by hacker groups, accounting for over 50% of cyberattacks worldwide.

We have identifiedthe 3 most affected sectors:

  • The technology sector (MSI, Acronis, Atlassian...)
  • Manufacturing (Hyundai, BMW, Hills-Motors...)
  • Financial services (PayPal, Saga, Commonwealth Bank...)

It's important to note that this data is based on what we know, so the other side of the iceberg should be no less impressive unfortunately...

Our aim at Dattak is to help companies reduce their cyber risks, and to insure them in the event of an attack! Cyber risk is the number 1 risk for any company, whatever its size.
